Founded in 1983, SC4 is an independent, family-owned and run structural steel processor and fabricator, based in Scunthorpe North Lincolnshire. With over 40 years of experience, we have established an excellent reputation for quality, on-time delivery, expertise and advice. We supply quality critical goods and services to diverse sectors in both the UK and Europe.

BS EN ISO 3834-2 – Welding Quality Management System

We have further invested in a dedicated welding quality management system. Welding is considered as a ‘Special Process’ which means that its quality cannot be readily verified therefore the process requires specialist management, personnel and procedures, therefore we have developed a suite of qualified weld procedures, a highly skilled team of qualified welders to BS EN 9606-1 and our own in-house Responsible Weld Coordinator. We believe an effective welding quality system is the key to ensuring excellent control of the manufacturing process.

BS EN 1090-1/2 Up to Execution Class 4

Companies selling structural steel products to the UK market must put in place a Factory Production Control system certified to BS EN 1090-1/2. This is a legal requirement under the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) and has been since 1 July 2014. Here at SC4 (UK) Ltd we are certified to Execution Class 4 (highest level possible class/level of quality control). Therefore all structural steel products produced by SC4 (UK) Ltd are UKCA Marked.
